12 October 2005: Six year old Amin Mahmood born in Eastbourne, Sussex, of Bangladeshi parents. is reflected in tiny lenses used by the Sightsavers charity to restore the eyesight of thousands of children with cataracts in Bangladesh. The hazy figure of the boy behind the intraocular lenses is actually how a child with cataracts sees the world before the operation. If a child born with cataracts can have the operation before the age of seven, sight can be completely restored. If it is left longer, it is often too late to completely reverse the damage.

The Booth Museum of Natural History in Hove was celebrating its anniversary in 1990 and all the staff were preparing the exhibits for a big party. The museum's curator was reluctant to believe that an escaping skeleton dashing through the showcases would make a better picture than his plans for David Bellamy opening the do, but after skelly was hung by fishing lines from planks of wood held by G-clamps and its mouth wedged open with a film can, he saw the joke. So did Life Magazine, which used it as a whole page.
