World altitude attempt in a microlite over the Gower Peninsula. Rod Jenkins took to the skies over the Gower Peninsula in South Wales as a dry run for his attempt on the Microlite altitude record, which then, in October 1989, stood at 30,000ft. Photographing him from the back of another microlite was rather like sitting on a flying lawnmower and changing films resulted in the wind grabbing the second roll and unreeling it all, leaving 36 frames exposed and fluttering in the slipstream.
