USA / California / San Francisco / The gold standard / 2012 / The City Hall / San Francisco's City Hall is a superb example of beau arts style. Its golden dome is the fifth largest in the world. Architect Arthur Brown Junior was heavily influenced by French neo classical designs in 1915, when the building was created. The surrounding trees and gardens are very prim, focusing all attention on the romantic flourishes of the building, especially the gold details dancing up the top of the dome.
