Photograph by Roger Bamber: 23 September 2005: A blurred shadow of artist Mark Anstee can be seen behind the canvas as he draws some of 10,000, two inch high, 1/32 scale human figures called 'Early Redemption' on a vast translucent membrane suspended in the chancel of a church converted into the Fabrica Gallery, Brighton. The 7 metre high screen was covered with little figures drawn over 25 days by the artist suspended in a harness on the other side of the screen from the viewer.

Mount Longdon, Falkland Islands, Falklands 1982. Ian John McKay VC (7 May 1953 - 12 June 1982) was a posthumous recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was Platoon Sergeant of 4 Platoon, B Company, 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, during the Falklands War and was killed on Mount Longdon on June 12 1982 while charging and overcoming an enemy position alone. This cross and a few flowers mark where he fell.

KierRail engineer Andy Parkin checks the three acre coverage of toughened glass used in the ВЈ28 million, three year renovation of the 1840 built, Grade 11* listed Brighton Railway Station. The restoration of the twin arched station built for the London, Brighton, South Coast Railway, used 8,200 tonnes of scaffolding, 80,000 rivits, 1,700 miles of welding rod and 25,000 litres of paint after each span was removed, sandblasted and replaced. The station used by 500 trains and 30,000 people daily will be ceremoniously opened on Saturday 23 September 2000

The group who play the dustbins as well as brooms, pedalbins, Zippo lighters, oildrums car bumpers, or anything that makes rythm, are opening at the Vaudeville Theatre on 23rd Sept for 20 weeks. They have also just finished a film 'Pulse' which premieres in the National History Museum, New York in October.

In 1991 Brighton Pavilion had just been freed from a cage of scaffolding and a blue tarpaulin for the first time in ten years after a ВЈ10 million refurbishment. It was photographed for the first time using the reflection it cast on a little 12ft. by 8ft. ornamental pond in the grounds. Puzzled visitors who had seen the picture kept asking Pavilion staff where the lake was.

The Australian born pop singer finished in fourth place, the contest, which was held in Brighton, was won by ABBA with Waterloo. unretouched Actor and professional hellraiser Oliver Reed gets down on his knees to apologise to his girlfriend Josephine Burge in a pub in Guernsey. He had just spent a weekend in the island's jail after being arrested for wrestling naked with visiting sailors in the streets. Josephine, 30 years his junior, not only forgave him, she actually married him a year later. To the surprise of many, the marriage proved a success, although in 1986 Ollie was forced to dig up nine acres of his back garden after forgetting where he had buried Josephine's jewelry when drunk.

Ratings on Britain's last fixed-wing aircraft carrier, HMS Ark Royal, clean the deck, flanked by a Buccaneer and a Phantom Jet. This was the ship's last voyage, in October 1978, but right to the very end, the crew were cleaning, polishing and painting her so she looked her very best. After this final exercise in the Mediterranean, HMS Ark Royal returned to Plymouth to be scrapped.
